FERO has its headquarters located at KM4 Mogadishu, Somalia, with a liaison office in Nairobi, Kenya. In addition, FERO maintains regional offices and programme operations in five regions, covering mainly central and Southern Somalia, namely; Banadir, Bay & Bakol, Lower Shabelle, Middle Shabelle and Lower Juba regions.

The Family Empowerment & Relief Organization (FERO), is a Somali local non-profit, non-sectarian non-governmental organization NGO), instituted, staffed and managed by a faculty of Somali women intellectuals. Conceptualized by a group of Somali women luminaries concerned with the country's civil strife and the increasing inability of the Somali folk to cope and meaningfully respond to the vexing humanitarian tragedy gripping the country, the organization was launched in 1992. Central to FERO's concern was the virtual collapse of household economies and with it abject poverty bedeviling the womenfolk in particular and the wider populace in general.
